Seismic Toolkit
High-performance 2-D/3-D seismic tomography computation with Python kernels, React UI, and a subscription-based SaaS API.
Architecting high-performance, cloud-native applications with a focus on 10+ years of enterprise-scale experience.
I started my life with rocks — stratigraphy, sedimentary layers, the patient work of reading deep time from outcrops and thin sections. Field geology taught me to look for patterns in noise, to build mental models from incomplete data, and to respect the difference between what a map says and what the ground does.
When I moved into software, the tools changed but the instincts carried over. I still approach systems the way I approached a new basin: start with the structure, understand what's underneath, and design for the forces that will act on it over time.
Today I build cloud-native applications and distributed systems — the same patient, pattern-driven work, just with different materials.

An accessible React component kit with theming, docs, and zero-config installation.
Event-driven transcoding and thumbnailing built entirely on AWS serverless services.
Geosciences
Before the code came the field — reading deep time from outcrops, mapping fault zones, and imaging the subsurface. This work at CSUEB used seismic tomography to map the Hayward and Chabot fault systems in the San Francisco East Bay.
